Welcome to
TomatoLand!
TomatoLand was started in February of 2007 when a number of very knowledgable people joined forces to make an all-in-one site associated with tomatoes. Being the social critters that these tomato lovers are, they created this web site to try to draw more people into the hobby of growing tomatoes. We even have a few breeders here! Anyway, check out the links below and join in. If you are new, there is a forum just for you. If you are experienced, please contribute! Just a note: Most of the features on this web site require a valid account to prevent the spam from building up. Oh yeah, and we don't use your email address for anything other than getting you set up to log in. Thanks and welcome! Rob |

| Forum | This is where most of the
action goes on. You can find about any information you are looking for
right here. If it isn't there, just ask! You will need an account here,
due to the massive amounts of spam bots out there. Ask PyroRob for an
account |
||
| Recipe Book | What do you do with all
those tomatoes and peppers? Here's a place to share your recipes with
everyone else. You will need an account so ask PyroRob for one. |
||
| IRC Channel | This is where you can
usually find someone, a round the clock. This IRC server is not hosted
by TomatoLand but rather Undernet.org. If you already have an IRC client,
point it at us.undernet.org and /join #gardening If you would like to
see what all the fuss is about, follow the link to the left and it will
take you to a web-based client. Although it's not as handy to use as a
standalone client, it will certainly give you an idea as to what and
who we are about. |
||
| Photo Gallery | Since the forum doesn't let you post pictures
directly
but rather just links or URL's, the users asked for a place where they
could post their pictures, and then be able to link to them. Of course,
to keep the spammers out, this requires a user account too. Ask PyroRob
if you need one. |

| Hydroponics Tutorial | Many people have asked me about using hydroponics
for
growing tomatoes, peppers, and other things. Rather than try to draw
pictures, etc (I have no artistic skills, as you can tell),
I have mirrored a web site that has very good content
concerning hydroponics here. This mirror has not been authorized by the
author of that site (I can't find any contact information). If he sees
this, and would like to give written permission for the mirror
(hopefully), or if he wants me to take it down, he can contact me via the domain ownership information shown in the whois for this domain. The original site is at http://edurink10.tripod.com I have found this site to be very useful when trying to come up with ideas for new system designs, or nutrient mixes. |
||
| Frappr Map | While in IRC one morning, someone asked me
where someone else was from. I couldn't remember, I hadn't had my first
cup of coffee yet, but it got me to thinking. I had run into this
problem once before, and it was easily solved. Click the link to the
left to see the map :) If you are an active member of TomatoLand.net,
please stick your pin on the map! |
